Fundraising

The Howard Preschool, Inc. exists as a non-profit, non-sectarian, State accredited preschool. We try very hard to keep our tuition and fees on a level comparable to other preschools in the area even though almost all the other schools are church sponsored. Therefore, the bulk of our income is used for rent, insurance, basic supplies, and salaries. As a sign of the times, our insurance increases substantially each year, even though we have never filed a claim against it. Unlike some other schools, we also provide the children with their daily snack.

In order to maintain and enhance the quality of our program while keeping the cost of tuition affordable, we do rely heavily upon fund raisers to provide for major purchases. We have many fundraisers throughout the year to accomodate the varied tastes of our school population. The family who loves pizza kits may not be interested in cookie dough; some people might like the Kidstuff Books while others prefer helping through Safeway, Kohl's, or Target. We try very hard every year to choose fundraisers that you just can't resist.

Over the past several years, we have bought new large blocks for the block corners, new kitchen sets for the housekeeping corners, shelving units, landscaping for the playground, a copy machine and a laminator, disaster preparedness supplies, metal supply cabinets, a shed, and new curtains and flooring.

As parents ourselves, we understand the financial commitment you are making to send your child to preschool. We can truthfully guarantee, however, that in providing your child with the quality educational foundation afforded by Howard Preschool is a most worthy investment in your child's future.

PLEASE NOTE: Although there may be many fundraisers headed your way, please know that participation in fundraising activities is not a requirement for enrollment. We do not apologize for the number of fundraisers we have throughout the year; we also do not keep track of what or how much people buy during fundraisers. The decision to participate or not is entirely up to you.

To those of you who do support our fundraising programs, we greatly appreciate your help. Your children are the recipients of your generosity and efforts.
